Black Box House

Set on a long, triangular and irregularly shaped site, this contemporary family home responds to its constraints through a carefully articulated composition of timber and dark cladding volumes. The extended front boundary informed a strong, controlled street edge, balancing privacy with moments of openness.

The building mass is broken into layered forms, allowing the upper level to hover above the ground floor and create sheltered entry spaces. Openings are precisely positioned to maximise daylight and outlook while maintaining a calm and refined street presence. As evening falls, warm interior lighting softens the architecture, revealing a home that is both robust and welcoming.
